PRAMILA VASUDEVAN + RACHEL JENDRZEJEWSKI // a\c|c/e|p\t|i/n|s\i|s/t // 5.21.22 – 6.12.22

DATES: May 21 – June 12, 2022
OPENING RECEPTION: Saturday, May 21, 2022. 7:00-10:00pm

Pramila Vasudevan + Rachel Jendrzejewski ::: a\c|c/e|p\t|i/n|s\i|s/t.

These two performance-based artists, both altered by cancer, began new writing and drawing practices in response to taking the same prescription for ten years.

This exhibition drops a frame onto their practices and their ongoing dialogue, fluidly examining public and private intersections of illness, mortality, constitution, buoyancy, exhaustion, ease, and showing up.

This exhibition pairs Jendrzejewski’s words and Vasudevan’s drawings on paper in an interactive space that evolves over the course of the month-long run.

HAIR+NAILS directors Kristin Van Loon & Ryan Fontaine each come to the visual arts via the performing arts and they have a particular interest in presenting art and artists at the intersection of the disciplines. They are super fans of the performance works of Jendrzejewski and Vasudevan and are thrilled to host their new and ongoing project together that they describe as “disposable writings and drawings from the gut”.
a\c|c/e|p\t|i/n|s\i|s/t runs May 21 – June 12, 2022.

Artists’ bio:
